Visited van Gogh’s grave at Auvers-sur-oise over the weekend. It was the loveliest grave (along with his brother’s who was buried by his side), covered with creepers.
I couldn’t resist, and took a momento from his grave.
From birth, to dust, we are revived once more through the beautiful creation we have left behind, and new life.

Heading out to Auvers-sur-oise today, the last home of van Gogh.  Looking forward to seeing the eligse d’Auvers-sur-oise in real life.

During a recent photoshoot with Marie Claire, I was asked, among other questions, “who is your style icon?”
I was stumped. Truthfully, I haven’t glanced at fashion magazines for over a year, and was pretty much clueless on anything pop culture.
I thought quickly of what I was currently wearing: a thrifted Tibetan ankle-length skirt that I bought for RM10 for election reform aid, a Bersih Sabah tee, and a green rose clip that gathered my rather untidy hair into a bun.
Flowers in the hair, wishes for election reform, long silhouette…..
“Aung San Suu Kyi”, I blurted out.
The writer paused, with a surprised yet approving look.
“Aung San Suu Kyi”, I repeated with more confidence, “because she epitomizes everything I hope to be one day”
Of courage, of gentleness, of compassion, of generous love.
